THE GREEN HOUSE® Homes opened in 2017, bringing a new and innovative model of nursing home care to Rhode Island.

About the GREEN HOUSE® Homes

The four houses, located on Saint Elizabeth Home's campus in East Greenwich, are each home to twelve residents. The houses have all the amenities that make them real homes complimented by the features of a state of the art nursing home; emergency call buttons, adjustable beds, locked medicine cabinets and ceiling track lifts.

The beautiful homes provide space for both privacy and community. All bedrooms are private with ensuite bathrooms and fully accessible showers. An open kitchen is the heart of the home. and a warm and welcoming hearth room and den offer comfortable space for gathering. Porches and patios offer inviting spaces to enjoy the outdoors.

Model of Care

The GREEN HOUSE nursing home model of care focuses on supporting individuals by providing a real home, meaningful life, and empowered staff. Caregiving is provided by Shahbazim, certified nursing assistants that have been cross trained in food preparation, laundry and housekeeping. The Shahbazim work as a team, sharing life and supporting the needs of residents. Nurses provide support 24/7, and a physician dedicated to the homes meets routinely with residents and staff. Residents are the decision makers to the best of their ability, and relationships flourish in the smaller home environment as caregivers and residents enjoy life and spend time together.
