How has your company adapted in response to workforce shortages and staff burnout?

We launched a free CNA training program to recruit and prepare certified nursing assistants for the eldercare field and partnered with New England Institute of Technology to offer nursing degree scholarships through Real Jobs Rhode Island. To address burnout, we are committed to maintaining low staff-to-patient ratios so our team can deliver quality, patient-focused care.

What fun activities does your company offer employees to participate in?

Every quarter we host Thankful Thursdays, where employees receive a thank-you treat – from ice cream to donuts to candy-filled water bottles. Our annual holiday party brings staff together from across the community, culminating in staff longevity awards that make it an inspiring event for everyone.

How would you describe the culture of your workplace?

At Saint Elizabeth Community, everyone is treated like family – our residents, their family members, volunteers, and staff alike.

Providence Business News 2026 Best Places to Work in Rhode Island

This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in Rhode Island, benefiting the economy, workforce, and businesses in the state of Rhode Island. The list is made up of 68 companies.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

* Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity;

* Be a publicly or privately held business;

* Have a facility in the state of Rhode Island;

* Have a minimum of 15 employees working in the state of Rhode Island;

* Must be in business a minimum of one year.

Companies from Rhode Island entered the two-part survey process to determine the 2026 Best Places to Work in Rhode Island. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data, and determined the final ranking.

The final rankings will be revealed at an in-person event on June 11th at the Crowne Plaza and published by PBN in their June issue.
